Water Feature Repairs - Rock & Liner
Pond and Pondless Waterfall repairs can be a quick simple fix or a nightmare. If you are the unfortunate recipient of a Pond Done Wrong you will likely need a partial pond rehab or complete renovation. The First step is talking with a professional but the pond contractor will most often need to be called in for a consultation to assess the problemed pond. Think of it like a house call from a Doctor where you are hoping to hear that it’s just a simple cold but you never know what lies underneath the surface and it’s his job to determine what is going on with you OR in this case your water feature. Often a problemed water feature was originally built by the lowest bidder and he skimped on material and products so you would expect the new pro will likely need to bring in more materials. Entirely ripping out a water feature and starting from scratch is very common. Hopefully in your case it is not THIS serious and you only have a low edge, some loose rockwork, waterfall box leak, or a skimmer repair to deal with. In regards to liner tears, some pros with try to patch a small leak in a liner whereas many pros will not because liner tears are not common and if you have one tear that you can see there are usually multiple tears that you can not see which means the original pond builder did not do his job correctly or invasive plants or rodents maybe the problem. A whole new liner is usually the solution. Give as much info as possible to the professional pond repair person before you meet such as what type of water feature do you have, how big, how deep, how old, who built it, last time it was cleaned, what components you have, if you are losing water, if so how much and anything you think will help him solve your problem.
